Guide
Probation Confirmation Letter, explained
About the Probation Confirmation Letter
A probation confirmation letter is the formal close to someone's probationary period — it tells the employee, in writing, that their performance during probation supports moving them to permanent status. It's often the same document that carries a revised designation or compensation, when the confirmation comes with one.
Issue it once a probation review is actually complete and the decision to confirm has been made — the letter records a decision that's already been taken, not a preview of one still pending.

Frequently asked questions
What if the employee is confirmed with a change in role or pay?
Choose the "Confirmed with revision" variant and fill in the revised designation and/or CTC. If nothing is changing, use "Confirmed, no change" and the letter stays focused on the confirmation itself.
Does this letter replace the original appointment letter?
No — it confirms the probation outcome and states that the original appointment letter's terms continue to apply, except for anything explicitly revised here. Keep both on file.
What if probation isn't being confirmed but extended instead?
Use the Probation Extension Letter instead — it's a separate document built for that outcome, including the reason for extension and the new review date.
