What we have shipped

The privacy policy said that drafting an HR document through MB Connect without an account saved nothing on our servers. Each draft is in fact kept for 30 minutes so the next step can use it, and is then deleted; the policy now says so. It also names Upstash, the short-term store that holds those drafts, request-rate counters for up to an hour, and a 24-hour record of documents saved through MB Connect. That store is in Mumbai, India, so the policy no longer says that none of our servers are in India.

The privacy policy said our application was not tied to one region. Since 2 October its server functions run in Seoul, South Korea, next to the database, and the policy now says so. Scripts, styles, images and fonts are still served from the location nearest to you.

Printing a shared resume link from the browser gave blank pages. It now prints the resume itself, on the paper it was made for (A4 or US Letter), without the page's own header and footer line.

The job matching behind the cover letter's For this job panel, the builder's Job Match step, the Job Description Matcher and the ATS Simulator now recognizes more of what postings ask for, such as A/B testing, user research, Looker, BigQuery, dbt, Kafka, CI/CD, Mailchimp, Google Ads and Adobe XD, and common ways of writing them (A/B tests, Postgres, visualization). A posting that talks about its go-to-market plan is no longer read as asking for the Go programming language. Match scores for postings that name these change: higher when your resume shows them, lower when it does not.

The cover letter's Recipient and job step has an optional box for the job posting. A For this job panel shows which of the skills and tools it names your resume shows, and where, and which it does not. Write the letter for this job then leads with the experience that matches and adds one sentence naming only what your resume shows, in your resume's own words; anything it does not show is left out. It runs in your browser with no AI, and the posting is never printed. Create matching cover letter in the resume builder now also uses the job description and job title from your Target role step.

When Truth Guard holds back an AI rewrite of a cover letter, its question now speaks about the letter: it says what the suggestion added that your letter does not, such as a tool or a title, and leaves adding it to you. It used to ask about this role, as if the text were a resume bullet. What it blocks has not changed, and it still never repeats a figure the AI made up.

The cover letter's opening, body and closing each have a Rewrite with AI button: improve the wording, make it shorter, more formal or simpler. The AI's version is shown as a suggestion, and nothing changes until you choose Use this, which you can undo. Truth Guard checks every suggestion: if it adds a number, name, skill or other fact your text does not contain, it is not offered and you are asked about it instead. Only that part of the letter, the job title and the company are sent to our AI provider, and signed-in users can turn it off from AI preferences like every other AI feature.

Generate from resume now writes the letter from what your resume actually says: the role and company you are applying to, your summary, your strongest jobs and their results, and your skills, in plain sentences instead of stock lines like “excited to apply” or “welcome the opportunity”. Nothing is invented, and no AI is used: every number and employer in the draft comes from your resume. Each list of suggestions now starts with ideas written from your resume, marked From your resume, and the general ideas and sample letters were reworded too.

The cover letter's Download menu now offers Word (DOCX) as well as PDF, for application forms that ask for a Word file. It has the same text and paper size as the PDF, in one plain layout.

The cover letter preview now shows every page, with a word and page count that match what prints. Letters print on US Letter paper when you choose it, with margins on every page. You can set the date and choose the sign-off, and the Matching template no longer prints its own name on the letter. An empty letter shows a labeled sample instead of a blank page, and you are asked before downloading a letter that is missing its text or your name. Using a suggestion can be undone, contact fields work with your browser's autofill, and the page fits phones down to 320 pixels wide.

Our server functions now run in Seoul, next to the database, instead of on the US East Coast, so pages and requests that read or write your account no longer cross the Pacific. A request that looks up the database went from about 1.6 seconds to about 0.6 seconds in our measurements from India. Calls out to services in the US and Europe, such as our AI provider and email, take a little longer.

The site now follows your device's light or dark setting, and you can choose Light, Dark or System from the account panel. Resumes, cover letters and HR documents stay on white paper, as they print.

The Templates page shows every matching template in a grid instead of four at a time, and on a phone the builder's toolbar takes two rows instead of three. Template cards now say ATS readability instead of Parseability.

Executive Classic, Modern Pro, Sidebar Pro and Fresher Start join the collection. Creative Pro Hybrid, Kraft Typewriter, Teal Ribbon and Gradient Memphis are retired: a resume or link that used one opens in the closest remaining design, so nothing is lost. There are still 50 templates.

The builder's Template step shows the template you are using with your own details, plus three recommendations. Browse all 50 templates opens a gallery of every template that you can filter by style, layout and photo, and Change template in the live preview opens it from any step.

Fifteen templates whose body text printed below 8 pt now use the same readable size as the rest, and the Large font size is a true 10 pt. Templates set in Calibri or Cambria now fall back to fonts with the same letter widths, so a resume made on Windows keeps its line and page breaks on a phone or a Mac without Microsoft Office.

Until you pick a color, templates now show their own, such as crimson for Crimson Orbit and Crimson Brief, emerald for Emerald Scholar and gold for Gold Divide, instead of the same blue for all. Customize, Accent color now starts with Template color and adds Navy, Sage, Gold and Burgundy.

The live preview says how many pages your PDF will take and marks where each new page starts. When a resume runs just over one page, Fit to 1 page tightens spacing and margins one step at a time, never the text size, and Undo puts the settings back.

Every template now breaks pages cleanly at any resume length: section headings stay with what follows, and no template leaves most of a page blank before moving on. Name and contact details come first in the templates that had them lower down, sidebars run the full height of a one-page resume, and large photo slots show your initials when there is no photo.

Text in every template now meets accessible contrast as printed, with the default color and with the accent colors on offer. A few templates also no longer set body text in gray italics or justify it.

Thirteen templates silently left out part of a longer resume, such as education details, extra links, certifications or project bullets; every template now prints all of it. Skill bars and levels that were made up are gone, so a level shows only when you write one, like Figma (Advanced), and section headings name what is under them, for example Certifications instead of Awards or Work References.

Text smaller than 12 pixels across the site is now at least 12, buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall on touch screens, and several long phone layouts are shorter. Resume and document previews keep their printed sizes.

Grok can now connect to MB Connect through its own sign-in address, given on the Integrations page together with what was and was not tested. An account without an HR company can now approve the connection. On the pricing page, the Tool Pass button now leads to the HR tools, where a pass is bought, instead of the Premium checkout.

Assistants that only accept plain JSON replies, or that connect from a web browser, can now use MB Connect. When a draft request has a field the tool does not know, the reply now names it, and a draft that can no longer be found gets its own clear message.

The privacy policy, terms and contact page now name a Grievance Officer for MB Resume Builder, reached at the support address with Grievance in the subject line. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and aimed to be resolved within 15 days.

The appointment letter page and its guide now say which employers the rule applies to: 10 or more workers for most businesses, including offices; 20 with power or 40 without for a factory; and any size for mines, ports, dock work and hazardous activities. The note that this is not legal advice stays.

On the live site, importing a resume from a PDF always tried a server step that failed, which cost about a second, and then used your browser's own reading of the file. The server step works again.

Our analytics is no longer loaded at all until you choose Analytics only or Accept all. Before, every page load still fetched its settings, even for visitors who had declined. The privacy policy now also says which few events our servers send whatever you choose: a completed payment and the use of MB Connect tools.

On a slow connection, the sign-in, sign-up and account pages no longer jump while they load.

The HR Company Workspace (company records, employees, templates, bulk generation, approval workflows and document verification records) is now included with Premium, at Premium's price of ₹399 a month or ₹3,999 a year, instead of being free. It is the same plan that unlocks unlimited HR document downloads, not a separate subscription, and a 24-hour Tool Pass does not include it. Companies saved while the workspace was free are kept: they stay listed, you can archive or delete them permanently or download your data from your account at any time, and everything opens again once Premium is active. Checking a document by its QR code or MB Document ID stays free for anyone.

The consent banner now offers Decline, Analytics only and Accept all. Google Ads measurement and ad personalization turn on only with Accept all, and anyone who accepted the earlier banner is asked again. With analytics allowed, page loading times are recorded too. To change your mind later, use Privacy choices at the bottom of any page.

The ATS step now has a button to check your summary and bullets for spelling and grammar mistakes using AI. It only runs when you ask for it, sends only the written parts of your resume, and shows suggestions only — it never changes your ATS score.

AI rewrites could still slip in a method or outcome you never described — for example turning "helped with onboarding" into "helped with onboarding by developing a training module" — without inventing any single number, date, or name Truth Guard was already watching for. It now recognizes that pattern too and asks whether you actually did the extra work before letting it through.

Turning off AI assistance for your account is supposed to stop every AI feature from running. One check — the optional spelling and grammar pass — wasn't honoring that setting. It does now, along with everything else.

Sharing a resume link with your email and phone hidden could still leak them if they appeared in your links list rather than the dedicated contact fields — for example from an imported resume. Both are now stripped properly. We checked every existing link created this way and confirmed none were affected.

Versions saved from the builder's Export & Save step used to stop appearing in Career Vault after your first visit there. They show up there now, and the account page explains how a saved resume and its Career Vault version relate to each other.

The approval workflow's signature step now says plainly that no e-signature vendor is connected yet, so nothing signed there is legally binding — instead of asking you to confirm a document is being sent somewhere it isn't.

The privacy policy now says explicitly that your own resume and an employer's HR workspace are never combined, even when the same account holds both.

A step you had already finished — Template, for example — could show a "Complete" badge while still refusing to open if you hadn't reached it in sequence yet. Finished steps are reachable now; steps you haven't gotten to yet still aren't.

Naming a target role now surfaces the skills postings for that career usually ask for, each as a yes/no question — nothing is added to your resume without you confirming it — plus questions to help you write your own achievements, since we don't write them for you.

Choosing "Fresher" was supposed to prioritize Education and Projects over Experience, but the builder still opened on an Experience step you might not have anything to put there. It now walks fresher resumes through Education, Projects, Skills, and Certifications first, with Experience last rather than removed.

What's free and what costs money now appears above the form, with the actual price, instead of only at the bottom after a long HR document is already filled in. The builder does the same for its own free scope on the very first screen.

Applying AI-tailored changes now saves a copy of your original resume first and only then applies the changes — and if that copy can't be saved, nothing is applied, and your resume is left untouched instead of being changed with no way back.

Four new pages spell out what this product is and how it makes money, exactly how every score is calculated and what those scores can't tell you, the standards our writing is held to, and this list of what has actually shipped.

Bullet points can now be rewritten with a specific intent rather than through one generic improve button: Improve, Shorten, Make more specific, Improve action verb, Add measurable impact, Match target role, and Make more natural. Every suggestion appears as a before-and-after you approve, edit, reject, or undo — nothing is applied to your resume automatically.

Some AI rewrites were returning fragments of the model's own reasoning instead of a finished bullet. The cause was that the model's internal reasoning was charged against the same output budget as its answer, leaving almost nothing for the answer itself. Rewrites now come back complete, and a truncated reply is detected and rejected rather than shown to you.

The check that stops AI from inventing employers, dates, numbers, skills, or credentials was applied when rewriting text but not when parsing an uploaded resume. It now runs on the import path too, so an imported resume cannot come back carrying details your original document never contained.

The ATS view shows the name, email, phone, experience, education, skills, and employment dates a parser extracts from your resume, so you can check that the machine read it the way you intended. Every issue reported now states what was detected, why it matters, and what to change.

Templates can be filtered by experience level, use case, industry, layout, and length, and a recommended template now carries a short note on why it was recommended instead of an unexplained badge. No new templates were added — this was about finding the right one among those that already existed.

Resume creation now opens with three clearly labeled paths — upload an existing resume (fastest), build with AI by answering a few questions, or build from scratch for full control — followed by your target role and experience level. Structure and template suggestions come after that, not before. No account is required, and autosave is unchanged.

The 16 original HR tools were migrated onto the same rendering engine as the 16 newer ones, so every HR document now shares identical PDF and Word output, letterhead handling, and formatting. The migration also closed a gap where seven tools omitted the addressee block and one salary certificate shipped without its covering letter.

Employee records, lifecycle tracking, custom templates, bulk generation, and approval workflows are available at no cost. E-signature is the one capability held back for a paid tier, because it carries a real per-signature cost from an external provider.

The resume builder, the JD matcher, and the ATS simulator each ran their own job-matching logic, so the same resume and job description could produce different scores depending on which screen you were looking at. They now share a single engine and report the same result everywhere.

Three steps that asked for information already collected elsewhere were merged into their neighbors.

Resume and HR document Word downloads were previously HTML files renamed to .doc, which some versions of Word and Google Docs open badly. They are now genuine OOXML .docx files. Plain-text export was removed rather than kept as a third option it could never match — plain text cannot carry a logo, a signature, or any styling.

Templates are loaded on demand instead of all at once, so the builder preview and the template gallery open faster.

Inline scripts and styles are no longer broadly permitted; the app uses per-request nonces and exact hashes instead. This narrows the ways a script injected into a page could run.

A rebuilt ATS analysis with six explainable category scores replaced four checkers that disagreed with each other. Alongside it: a job-description matcher, AI tailoring that proposes changes for your review, and MB Truth Guard, the rule that AI must never silently invent facts about you.

Employee records, employment lifecycle, custom templates with merge fields, bulk generation from CSV or Excel, an approval workflow, and public document verification, plus 16 additional document generators.

An MCP server with its own OAuth authorization lets a connected assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, generate HR documents against your workspace with your explicit permission.

Real account deletion, HR workspace deletion, and data download; an AI opt-out; analytics loaded only after consent; and color-contrast corrections found in an accessibility audit.

Every HR document can be filled in and previewed with your real logo and signature before any payment. The charge applies at download, and the preview watermark is explained on screen rather than left unexplained.

Generators previously filled an empty signatory field with a plausible-looking placeholder name. They now leave it blank and ask. A salary certificate bug where annexure totals did not sum their own line items was fixed at the same time.

Sample resume data used to populate the preview could, in some cases, appear in a downloaded file. It no longer can.
