About
About MB Resume Builder
MB Resume Builder is a tool for writing a resume that a machine can read, that says only true things about you, and that does not require handing your work history to a server to edit it.
It also runs a second product, MB HR Documents, for the other side of the same paperwork: the offer letters, experience letters, and salary certificates an employer has to issue.
The three things we optimise for
Most resume tools optimise for looking impressive. These are the three we chose instead, and they are the reasons behind most of the product decisions on this site.
- Readable
- A resume that a parser mangles has failed before a person ever sees it. Every template is scored for how cleanly it can be extracted, and you can see the name, contact details, dates, and sections a parser actually pulls out of your document. We describe templates as designed for ATS readability — never as guaranteed to pass one, which nobody can promise.
- Truthful
- AI writing help is genuinely useful for phrasing and genuinely dangerous for facts. MB Truth Guard is the rule that the AI in this product may improve how something is worded but may never invent an employer, a job title, a date, a number, a skill, a technology, a qualification, or an achievement. When a rewrite would need a fact it does not have, it asks you instead of filling the gap.
- Private
- Your resume holds your address, your phone number, and your entire employment history. Editing, previewing, and checking it happen in your browser; that content is not uploaded to a server merely so you can work on it. The exceptions — the features that genuinely require sending text to an AI model — are listed individually in the privacy policy, and you can turn AI off entirely.
What is actually in it
- 50 resume templates, each individually scored for how well its layout survives automated parsing.
- An ATS check that shows you the fields a parser extracts, and explains every issue it raises rather than only scoring you.
- A job-description matcher that compares your resume against a posting and separates what is missing from your document from what you actually lack.
- AI writing help for individual bullet points, with a before-and-after you approve, edit, reject, or undo.
- Resume import from PDF, DOC, and DOCX, and export as PDF or Word (.docx).
- 32 HR document generators, plus a workspace for employee records, bulk generation, approvals, and public document verification.
How this makes money
Being straightforward about this is part of the point, because the answer determines whose interests the product serves.
- Resume building is free and stays free. Every template, the editor, the ATS check, and both export formats are available to everyone, with no account required and no watermark on the file you download. That is a standing commitment written into the product rules, not a promotional tier that converts to paid later.
- HR documents are paid at download. You can fill in and preview any HR document with your own logo and signature before paying anything. A ₹49 pass unlocks one tool for 24 hours; Premium is ₹399 per month or ₹3,999 per year across all of them. See pricing.
- Advertising on articles. Guide and blog pages carry ads. The builder, the editor, and your documents do not, and no advertiser has any input into what those articles say.
We do not sell your resume, your documents, or your personal data to anyone, and we are not funded by a job board or a recruiting agency that would benefit from what is in them.
Things we have decided not to do
- Claim any resume is guaranteed to pass an ATS. Applicant tracking systems are numerous, private, and constantly changing; nobody can test against all of them, so nobody can honestly guarantee it. We say designed for ATS readability, and we show you our working.
- Let AI fill in an impressive-sounding fact. A fabricated metric on a resume is a liability in the interview that follows it. Truth Guard exists to make that failure mode impossible rather than unlikely.
- Become an HRMS. MB HR Documents issues, approves, tracks, and verifies documents. It is deliberately not payroll, not attendance, and not a full HR management system.
- Mix candidate data with company data. A personal resume and an employer’s HR workspace are separate stores with separate privacy boundaries, and nothing moves between them on its own — including when the same account does both. The two halves of the product cannot read each other, and a build check fails if that ever changes. See the privacy policy.
